Solum Achieves Cyber Essentials Plus Certification

Solum demonstrates its commitment to cyber security by achieving Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, an assessment that addresses the most common internet-based threats to cyber security, including hacking, phishing, and password guessing.
This award certifies that Solum has made a significant investment in applying strict processes and procedures throughout our company to prevent cyber threats and other online attacks.

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a scheme backed by the UK Government, designed to help organisations guard against the most common cyber threats. Achieving this certification requires a self-assessment of the organisation’s cyber defences.
While the ‘Cyber Essentials’ certification can be achieved via self-certification, at Solum we have gone further to acquire Cyber Essentials Plus certification, the higher-level qualification of the Cyber Essentials scheme. This involved undertaking a third-party hands-on technical verification to ensure that we met the scheme’s requirements in full and had effectively implemented each of the five basic control themes (access control, secure configuration, software updates, malware protection, and firewalls and routers). This technical assessment was conducted by the accredited certification body ‘Cyber Tec Security’.

Why This Matters?

In an era where cyber threats are constantly evolving, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus demonstrates our proactive approach to safeguarding our systems and data. For our clients, partners, and stakeholders, this certification provides assurance that we are dedicated to maintaining a secure environment and protecting their sensitive information.
Solum also gives a special mention to Micro Support Ltd for their support throughout the certification process. Their expertise, particularly in the technical aspects of the assessment, has been instrumental in our success.
Having achieved certification against Cyber Essentials Plus, Solum is now listed in a directory of certified organisations, which is available on IASME’s website.
