The development of Assemblies A, B, and C in Bristol as part of a state-of-the-art commercial office space project.
Overview
The Assembly project is a distinctive commercial development located in the heart of Bristol. It consists of three buildings: Assembly A, Assembly B, and Assembly C, each offering modern office spaces. Assembly A, completed in July 2021, is fully leased to BT as part of their ‘Better Workplace Programme’. Assembly B is a seven-level building, while Assembly C, completed in late 2023, features twelve floors with balconies and city views. The development incorporates rooftop views, ample outdoor spaces, and a design that prioritises natural light, creating a dynamic and well-connected environment for businesses and the wider community. Challenges
The Assembly Project faced a couple of challenges, requiring Solum to devise specialist solutions to overcome them including:

Hybrid Superstructure
We achieved precise alignment of pre-cast panels with reinforcement starter bars (up to 40mm) within a strict 5mm tolerance, while co-ordinating the integration of steel and concrete elements to ensure structural integrity

Logistical Constraints
Limited site space required just-in-time delivery scheduling to maintain workflow efficiency, while managing construction towards the access gates and working within the full footprint of Assembly B and C demanded planning and execution.
